Visiting Yosemite, our first stop was Bridal veil falls. We were greeted by a mated pair of ravens. The native american name is Pohono, meaning “Spirit of the Puffing Wind.” The falls often has a veil-like appearance when the wind blows the mist sideways. Part of the "Points of Interest" series: This spring I drove cross-country from Brooklyn, NY to San Francisco, CA, and back again! Realizing a goal of mine since childhood was magical and I’m grateful the stars aligned for me. It was a fantastic opportunity to conduct art research at many national parks and public lands. My sense of light and color has been inspired the many vistas and scenic places we stopped, since I returned, my current project has been focused on painting "snapshots" of impactful moments from the trip. These works are smaller, often 12 inches or less, and intended to capture a fleeting feeling of place.
