This painting is a personal reading of Joan Cornellà’s work. The guy “Mr. Green” particularly comes from a character in one of Cornellà’s pieces called “Be yourself” (2019). As the artist makes fun of mankind's hypocrisy, I catch and highlight the superficial decency potentially existing in the original image like stylish haircut, sharp outfit, charming pose etc., as a set of social wardrobes constructed by our culture. Besides playing with cliches of identities, it is also an exploration of symbols delivered by color green.
