This bowl is a sly comment on the Pandora's Box story. This is the 3rd painting in a developing suite, exploring the idea that Pandora also had a bowl which released energy. (Given a box by the vengeful gods of ancient Greece, and asked to not open it, Pandora was sent to Earth. She opened the box and unleashed upon the world a plethora of pestilence, bad energy, sadness and fear.) Here, a modest bowl releases subtle and dynamic energy. Floating from it as well as within it, the energy plumes, and moves like fog moves. This release is neither good nor bad; it is benignly neutral. It is. This artwork is round, created with oil paint, and mica with a 12k gold ground on a panel. The work floats .25" off the wall - it is .25" thick and installs with a cleat which is included.
