This painting is an array of 4, 12 x 16 panels. In France, the Loire Valley is home to Chateau de Chenonceau, constructed over the River Cher in the 16th century. At one time, it was home to Catherine De’ Medici who ruled France there as Regent. In the 20th century, the river was on the line of demarcation during WWII making the chateau entrance in Nazi occupied France. The far end of the chateau straddling the river provided the French resistance the opportunity to pass individuals into the free zone. We visited on a foggy, cool spring morning. The forest on the “free” end of the chateau felt like a fairyland. **I’m contributing 15% of my revenue from the sale of this painting to the Houston Food Bank.
