In the Fall my Mexican Sunflowers start to droop, loose their petals and have most of their seeds raided by birds. The leaves take on a beautiful silvery grey coloration and begin to twist and turn into fantastical shapes. On rare occasions snow & frost arrive on the scene right before the leaves and remnants of flowers fall off. The result is a magical vision of delicate frost tracing the leaves and flowers and small clumps of snow attached here and there. I added GOLDEN Pearl Mica Flake to the painting to replicate the sparkle of the frost.
